GET THE SEASON STARTED WITH A LAURIE BERKNER CHRISTMAS OCTOBER 30!

GET THE SEASON STARTED WITH A LAURIE BERKNER CHRISTMAS OCTOBER 30!

"The undisputed queen of kindie rock." - USA Today

Best-selling, award-winning children's recording artist Laurie Berkner will kick off the holiday season with the release of her first-ever Christmas album, A Laurie Berkner Christmas (Two Tomatoes Records/Razor & Tie) October 30th. The album features fifteen traditional holiday and seasonal songs, three of which are original tracks: "Santa's Coming To My House Tonight," "Candy Cane Jane" and "Christmas Lights."

Laurie is joined by bandmates Susie Lampert (keyboards), Adam Bernstein (bass) and Bob Golden (drums, percussion) as well as other talented musicians including acclaimed recording artists Brady Rymer and Elizabeth Mitchell.

Says Laurie, "Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. I have actually wanted to make this album for a long time, as so many of my memories of being a kid at Christmastime center around music! All of the songs I chose for this recording remind me of those family times when we shared a lot of playfulness and love through music. Now that I have my own family, we sing carols together every year. While there are many holidays that we celebrate, I still get a little thrill when I see the lights go up and we sing our first Christmas song of the season together."

Laurie also recorded a song for Hanukkah especially for fans who celebrate that holiday. "Candle Chase" will be available exclusively as a digital download on all digital providers such as iTunes and Amazon MP3 the same day as the album release on October 30th.

The Laurie Berkner Band has received tremendous critical acclaim. Entertainment Weekly proclaimed "Her voice is so rich, so textured, so full of flavor...you can almost see and taste everything as she delivers it." Parenting Magazine dubbed her "The Pied Piper of preschool" while Time Magazine lauded Laurie as “A kind of sippy-cup Sheryl Crow."

A former preschool music teacher by day and indie rocker by night, Laurie Berkner started selling her music over ten years ago out of her living room on her own label, Two Tomatoes Records. Laurie was the first artist to ever appear in music videos on Nick Jr., Nickelodeon's 24-hour educational, commercial-free preschool network, and is featured in nearly all of the episodes of the channel's Jack's Big Music Show.

GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION RELEASES FIRST ALBUM IN MORE THAN A DECADE

GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION RELEASES FIRST ALBUM IN MORE THAN A DECADE

Raise Up Includes Guest Appearances By Prince and Rafael Saadiq

Album Set for Release on September 25, 2012 (Listen 2 Entertainment/Razor & Tie)

(New York, NY) - Bassist Larry Graham and Graham Central Station are set to release their first album in over a decade, Raise Up, on September 25th (Listen 2 Entertainment /Razor & Tie).

Bassist Larry Graham - the architect of the slap-and-pluck bass technique that defined the funk sound of the '60s and '70s and continues to inspire bassists across virtually every genre to this day - may specialize in the low end of the sonic spectrum, but he's just as ready to take his music to unprecedented heights. He's been doing it for more than four decades - first as the rock-solid foundation for a string of enduring and iconic hits by Sly and the Family Stone, and later as the head of his own powerhouse unit, Graham Central Station.

After a 13-year hiatus, Graham Central Station makes its triumphant return with Raise Up, set for release on Listen 2 Entertainment / Razor & Tie on September 25, 2012. Rise Up includes new versions of three classic GCS tracks, along with ten new songs for a new generation of fans. The album features guest appearances by Prince - a longtime collaborator with Graham and GCS since the late 1990s - as well as songwriter/guitarist/producer Rafael Saadiq.

Raise Up does just what the title demands, with a series of high-energy bursts that force listeners out of their chairs and into action. The combination of thumping backbeat, no-hold-barred orchestrations and upbeat, optimistic messages is designed to not just make people move, but make them move in a positive direction. Raise Up is a statement of defiance against the many obstacles and challenges that so often slow us down or keep us from realizing our fullest potential.

"We'd been touring for the last couple years before I made my final selection of songs and put this record together," says Graham, who recorded the songs with the band at Studio de l’Hacienda in Tarare, France, in the summer of 2011. "So I got a chance to see what works with live audiences. I got a chance to see what they like and what they want and what they react to. So this CD is a reflection of that - what the people want when we play our live show."

Along with Prince and Saadiq, Graham has assembled a high-caliber lineup of musicians for the 21st century edition of Graham Central Station: guitarist William Rabb, keyboardists David Council and Jimmy McKinney, drummer Brian Braziel and vocalist Ashling Cole.

The party starts with "GCS Drumline," an all-percussion piece, with cymbals and whistle blasts counterbalancing four snare drums playing in tandem. The track is equal parts opening salvo, pep rally and call to action. The message is clear: high-energy dead ahead. The in-your-face followup, "Throw-N-Down the Funk," sets up a fiery counterpoint between meaty brass arrangements - courtesy of the Millfield Horns, hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark - and tasty bass riffs.

The steady grooving "It's Alright" is the first of three "new master" versions of previously recorded GCS compositions by Graham. The others are the mischievous sounding "It Ain’t No Fun To Me" and the churning "Now Do You Wanta Dance."

Electronically enhanced and edgy, the title track features Prince on drums, keyboards and backing vocals. The song challenges everyone within the sounds is a call to stand up against the often oppressive circumstances that define the post-9/11 world. Prince reappears on two subsequent tracks, serving up melancholy lead guitar licks (along with keyboards, drums and backing vocals) on "Shoulda Coulda Woulda," a tale of regret over a love that has died because the lover failed to say the right words and do the right things at the right time; and later with more guitar on "Movin,'" a thundering challenge to get listeners on their feet before the curtain falls and the band hits the road.

Ashling Cole delivers lead vocals on an high-octane cover of the Stevie Wonder hit, "Higher Ground," and is Graham's nod to an old friend and frequent collaborator over the past four decades. "He's a great writer, a great musician and a great friend," says Graham. "I just like his songs, and I like to play them my way."

"One Day," the inspirational closer, features Graham, his wife Tina and Rafael Saadiq on vocals, all delivering a rousing ballad-turned-anthem that envisions a promising future - one that could be closer than we think.

"The music on this album is like a live performance," says Graham. "I wanted to tell a complete story, with a great beginning, a powerful body and a dynamic conclusion. I want that story to be uplifting and encouraging, something to help people rise above whatever challenges they're facing in life - whether it be personal issues or family issues or work issues. Everybody's dealing with something. I want this music to help raise people up and enable them to overcome adversity."

Essential is part of the Cooking Vinyl group, which comprises of Cooking Vinyl Records, Essential Music & Marketing and Cooking Vinyl Music Publishing, which is run by Paul Kinder, a former director at Chrysalis. Essential expanded into North America in late 2011 by opening an office in New York, run by Erik Gilbert.

Razor & Tie and Shock Records have also entered into a formal agreement which will see Shock Records promote, market and release Razor & Tie's heavy music priorities in Australia & New Zealand. Shock and Razor & Tie have teamed up in recent years to work on individual acts such as All That Remains, Brand New and Norma Jean. Under the new arrangement, the first acts brought to the forefront will be P.O.D. and For Today with new albums from both acts due out in 2012. As Australia's largest independent record label, Shock Records has always had a keen eye for heavy music and have been responsible for the success of artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, Alexisonfire and The Bronx.

John Franck, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Razor & Tie comments, "We couldn't be happier to be partnering up with the Essential Music family in the UK/Europe and our longtime friends at Shock in Australia and New Zealand. Now, more than ever, Razor & Tie is committed to growing its roster on a global level. We believe that these strategic alliances take another important step forward for us to widen our International reach."

Mike Chadwick, Founder and Managing Director of Essential Music and Marketing said, "Essential Music and Marketing is really pleased to be signing up such venerable international labels; Razor & Tie particularly has been in our sights for a while and to have them on board is a real coup. These North American partnerships are exactly where we want to be expanding as a company and having such success so early on for our US office is a testament to the ability of our US CEO Erik Gilbert and his team."

On the new partnership, Shock Records GM of Music Leigh Gruppetta commented, "Having enjoyed such a strong working relationship on many individual projects over the years, it made complete sense for both Shock and Razor & Tie to join forces in a broader capacity. With the direction they are taking and their brilliant new A&R team in place, we feel there is a great deal of synergy between the two companies. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership."

With over 40 million units sold, multiple Grammy Awards, and 20+ years in business, Razor & Tie is the largest privately owned independent music label in North America. P.O.D. RELEASES NEW STUDIO ALBUM MURDERED LOVE (RAZOR & TIE) TODAY

P.O.D. RELEASES NEW STUDIO ALBUM MURDERED LOVE (RAZOR & TIE) TODAY - ON iTUNES HERE

New P.O.D. Song "Beautiful" (From Murdered Love)
To Be Featured Tonight (7/10) On Comedy Central's Workaholics
Airing At 10:30 PM ET/9:30 PM CT

Music Video For "Murdered Love" Out Now HERE

"Still building big-chorus riff bombs designed to set off the youth of the nation…Murdered Love is best when all the anthemic stuff comes equipped with the sort of infectious grooves that the band's SoCal stomping ground is known for."
- Revolver Magazine

"SoCal rap-metal band brings back the boom after a four-year absence, sounding like the hook-laden harbinger of a spiritual apocalypse. The mix of metal, dub and hip-hop recalls 1999's The Fundamental Elements of Southtown and 2001's Satellite." - USA Today

"The songs all bear the band's trademark heavy groove that is nicely accentuated by Sonny Sandoval's unique rap-influenced delivery..the ultra-melodic tunes "Higher" and "Lost In Forever", for me they have the perfect blend of heaviness and melody. Murdered Love is the band's best effort in many years." - Puregrainaudio

"Murdered Love is purportedly a back to basics affair that finds the band re-investigating their initial influences of rap, punk rock, and reggae." - AllMusic

"P.O.D. comes out swinging like the four riders of the apocalypse...Murdered Love is a return to the bare-knuckled, breakdown-laced fusion of hip-hop, hardcore and ska-rock found on the multi-platinum Satellite." - Google Music

(New York, NY) - P.O.D. has released their first new album in four years, Murdered Love (Razor & Tie) - Buy HERE on iTunes. The album is already #1 on the iTunes Rock Chart and Top 10 overall.

JOE JACKSON NEW ALBUM THE DUKE DEBUTS AT #1 ON THE BILLBOARD CONTEMPORARY JAZZ ALBUM CHART

JOE JACKSON NEW ALBUM THE DUKE DEBUTS AT #1 ON THE BILLBOARD CONTEMPORARY JAZZ ALBUM CHART

Jackson To Perform On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon On Friday July 13th; Also Confirmed for NPR's All Things Considered

Jackson Kicks Off U.S. Tour This Fall

Duke Ellington Tribute Album Receives Rave Reviews

"If there's a through-line to Jackson's music, the connecting dots would consist of supreme song craft, a high level of musicianship and a restlessly shifting aesthetic" - Variety

"Musical chameleon Joe Jackson is back with a new record, and it's a doozy." - Onion's AV Club

"Intriguing arrangements all from his fertile musical mind" - Mix

"Several cuts take on appealingly unexpected flavors…a warmhearted tribute." - Billboard

"The Duke is nothing if not a fitting tribute from one musical genius to another." - Blogcritics

(New York, NY) - Joe Jackson's new album The Duke (Razor & Tie) has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Album Chart and #1 on the Billboard Current Jazz Album Chart as well as #93 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart selling over 4600 albums. Jackson is confirmed to perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Friday July 13th with The Roots and he will also be featured in coming weeks on NPR's All Things Considered. His Duke Ellington tribute album has been met to rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Variety, Billboard, Onion AV Club, etc. Purchase The Duke on iTunes HERE

Guest artists on The Duke include Iggy Pop, Sharon Jones, Regina Carter, ?uestlove, Christian McBride, Steve Vai, and many more. In support of the album, Joe Jackson and the Bigger Band are hitting the road this September on a North American tour and includes musicians Regina Carter, Allison Cornell, Jesse Murphy, Adam Rogers, Sue Hadjopoulos and Nate Smith.

The Duke is a decidedly unconventional salute to Ellington, demonstrating the timeless brilliance of his classic compositions while showcasing Jackson's sublime skills as an arranger, instrumentalist and vocal interpreter. Although it's only the second time he's recorded an album not comprised of his own compositions, The Duke is nonetheless a deeply personal project for Jackson, whose longstanding affinity for Ellington's pioneering spirit has served as a key inspiration throughout his own three-decades-plus career.

The Duke finds the iconoclastic English singer/composer/arranger/keyboardist and five-time Grammy nominee interpreting 15 Ellington classics over the course of ten tracks, interspersing melodic and rhythmic elements of various compositions in a manner that's consistent with Ellington's own freewheeling approach. Rather than emulating the songs' original big-band settings, Jackson filters the material through his own musical imagination while exploring an assortment of unexpected grooves and textures. The resulting album is a seamless fusion of sounds and styles, whose abundant sense of playfulness is consistent with Ellington's boundary-breaking attitude. Though The Duke is a tribute album, it's also very much a Joe Jackson album, consistent with his long-standing sense of musical adventure.

Such Gold have also announced additional tour dates this summer including runs with MXPX, Strung Out and Silverstein. Full tour dates are below.

Such Gold formed in 2009 and have reaped the rewards of their tireless efforts by releasing two EPs, Stand Tall (2009, Mightier Than Sword Records) and Pedestals (2010, 6131 Records). The band also released music on a split EP with Into It. Over It., and released an additional EP with A Loss For Words this past November. Fans of Such Gold have been attracted to the band's pop-punk stylings as the young group marries their love for old school pop-punk, hardcore and indie rock. Alternative Press has raved about the bands' music, "a pitch-perfect, gimmick-free example of how solid the melodic hardcore-influenced pop-punk sound could really be when imbued with an indelible enthusiasm and adolescent passion" and proclaiming the songs are "breathtaking" and "leaving one wanting more." The band has toured with The Wonder Years, We Are The Union, A Loss For Words, Man Overboard, Polar Bear Club, Fireworks, Balance and Composure, Rust Belt Lights, Maker, Kills and Thrills, etc. Such Gold is Ben Kotin (vocals), Nate Derby (guitar), Skylar Sarkis (guitar/vocals) and Devan Bentley (drums).

Both albums will also be digitally, specifically mastered for iTunes by Grammy-award winning engineer Brad Blackwood (Alison Krauss & Union Station, Maroon 5, North Mississippi Allstars, Saving Abel).

AXS TV will also exclusively premiere the Emerson, Lake & Palmer 40th Anniversary concert this August. The legendary Rock Band reunited to celebrate their 40th Anniversary and headlined London's first High Voltage Rock Festival. This was the historic moment when Emerson Lake and Palmer performed for the first time since 1998. This spectacular performance with extravagant special effects and lighting recaptured the magic and musical genius of Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer as they performed their greatest hits in front of thousands of fans and leaving a lasting memory of the stunning musicianship of these three legendary performers.

Razor & Tie's full catalogue re-issue campaign will continue with the release of newly expanded, re-mastered, editions of four additional ELP classic albums: Pictures At An Art Exhibition (1971- Live Album), Trilogy (1972- Studio Album), Brain Salad Surgery (1973- Studio Album), and Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Ladies & Gentlemen (1974- Live Album).

Considered by many to be one of rock's original first super-groups, Emerson Lake & Palmer formed in England in 1970 consisting of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). The band created a brand new world of music, combining classical and symphonic rock fused with beautiful vocals. Their penchant for appropriating themes from classical music and the group's more nuanced, textured approach to symphonic arrangements set ELP apart from their more bombastic guitar-based contemporaries of the time. This subtler and more sublime approach carries on today in the expansive atmospherics of Radiohead and Muse and also in the prog-influenced sphere of band's like Porcupine Tree, Dream Theatre, Opeth and many others, making ELP one of the more relevant torchbearers of the progressive rock sound. Along with Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, and Rush, Emerson Lake and Palmer ushered in the Prog era and as one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970's having sold over 40 million albums. ELP's dramatic flair, sincere passion, labyrinthine song structures, and symphony-worthy virtuosity proved that classical rockers could compete for arena-scale audiences as the band headlined stadium tours around the world.
