"When we decided to start Man Made Machine, we went back and listened to the stuff we had grown up with. I'm talking about bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Fuel and White Zombie. It just got to the point where the heavier groups weren't inspiring us. You can say that the '90s alt-rock stuff really inspired us,” vocalist Joe Cotela recently told Noisecreep.com.

Man Made Machine's debut album, Become, is a twelve track hard rock roller-coaster ride, soaring through diverse, yet autobiographical songs. Childhood friends, the band evolved over the years playing out locally in the Phoenix area and quickly gained recognition well beyond their hometown scene. Man Made Machine has toured the country with bands including, Escape The Fate and Dr. Acula, as well shared festival stages with bands such as Three Days Grace, Powerman 5000, Alice In Chains and Deftones. Sure to become an active rock staple the band draws influences from Nirvana, Metallica and Guns N' Roses. Man Made Machine is Joe Cotela (vocals), Justyn Sena (Bass), Matt Reinhard (Drums), Marc Hernandez (Guitar) and Steve Siminski (Guitar).

New Album Rabbits On The Run Out Now To Rave Reviews

This week Vanessa Carlton kicked off a North American tour supporting Matt Nathanson. The tour commenced last night in New Orleans, LA and runs through mid-October. Vanessa tours in support of her critically acclaimed new album, Rabbits on the Run, out now on Razor & Tie. Released this summer, the album has received raved reviews and Carlton performed her song "Carousel" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Today Show and "I Don't Want to Be a Bride" on Conan. Watch both songs as well as an interview and an exclusive cover of one of her favorite artists/songs as she performs a live session at Rolling Stone Magazine's offices - Watch Brian Jonestown Massacre's "David Bowie I Love You Since I Was Six" HERE.

Rabbits on the Run is the most honest and uncompromised album Vanessa Carlton has recorded to date, revealing a striking departure and an exciting snapshot in the evolution of this exquisite storyteller and inventive musician. The album was recorded in the UK at Peter Gabriel's world-renowned Real World Studios with producer Steve Osborne (U2, B-52's, KT Tunstall, Doves). The album finds Vanessa returning to music-making its most organic form to create ten intimate, evocative songs, recorded directly to tape with her close-knit team of collaborators including Steve Osborne, Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket, and Ari Ingber of The Upwelling (all playing on the album). Partly inspired by two books, Richard Adams' Watership Down and Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time, Rabbits on the Run is 10-song set of gorgeous, haunting melodies and finely-crafted stories, including the lush first single "Carousel," the ambient and eerie "Hear the Bells" and the propulsive "London."

Praise for Rabbits on the Run:
"A lovely sort of melancholy magic." Entertainment Weekly
"Rabbits on the Run is Vanessa Carlton's career high water mark thus far, especially on the stunning "Hear the Bells" and "Dear California", a disarming love letter to the Golden State."-KCRW's Chris Douridas
"Vanessa Carlton again demonstrates her knack for pensive, piano-driven pop on 'Carousel' from Rabbits on the Run." People
"Singer and pianist Ms. Carlton has long aspired to a different brand of pop stardom: less navel-baring...and more melodramatic, heavily arranged pop symphonies." The New York Times
"Wistful, piano-led balladry, but there's a touch of darkness and complexity on display here that wasn't as apparent on her earlier hits... she's certainly not just another sensitive girl with a piano..." RollingStone.com

MADINA LAKE SET TO JOIN THE "WAKE-UP! TOUR" WITH ME TALK PRETTY, HELL OR HIGHWATER & NEW YEARS DAY

MADINA LAKE SET TO JOIN THE "WAKE-UP! TOUR" WITH ME TALK PRETTY, HELL OR HIGHWATER & NEW YEARS DAY

VIDEO FOR "IMAGINEER"
-- NEW SINGLE CO-WRITTEN AND PRODUCED BY BILLY CORGAN --
PREMIERES ON PUREVOLUME

On the heels of the release of their new album World War III, the Chicago-based alternative rock group Madina Lake have announced they'll join the first-ever "Wake-Up! Tour" supporting Me Talk Pretty this fall. The nationwide U.S. tour will kick off November 26 in Baltimore, MD and will wrap up December 18 in New York City (see full dates below), Hell Or Highwater and New Years Day will round out the bill.

Early acclaim is starting to appear for the group's third album World War III. Alternative Press magazine noted, "...they've delivered their strongest album to date. World War III is a big, dirty pop record drenched in electronics, shot through with ass-shaking grooves and boasting towering refrains designed to be sung by thousands of voices. While 'Howdy Neighbor!' and 'Fireworks' are mean through and through, 'Across 5 Oceans' and 'Heroine' dramatically counter their insidious verses with soaring, uplifting choruses that sneak up out of nowhere." (October 2011). Check out more critical soundbites listed below and listen to World War III--just released September 13 on Razor & Tie--in full via MySpace: www.myspace.com/madinalake.

In video news, the group premiered the clip for their propulsive second single "Imagineer"--co-written and produced by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins--on PureVolume. Watch the video for Madina Lake's "Imagineer" below:
http://www.vevo.com/watch/madina-lake/imagineer/USRZR1130518

"In the wake of the beating bassist Matthew Leone suffered last year, Madina Lake's return to the scene is reason enough to celebrate, it's just icing on the cake they've delivered their strongest album to date. World War III is a big, dirty pop record drenched in electronics, shot through with ass-shaking grooves and boasting towering refrains designed to be sung by thousands of voices. While 'Howdy Neighbor!' and 'Fireworks' are mean through and through, 'Across 5 Oceans' and 'Heroine' dramatically counter their insidious verses with soaring, uplifting choruses that sneak up out of nowhere."
--Dan Slessor, Alternative Press (October 2011)

"The album flat-out delivers consistently, from the bubbling bass and danceable beat of electro-pop leaning 'Heroine' to the snarling, itchy riffs and bitter angst of 'Blood Red Fangs' which uncovers an affair, 'Honestly, honesty is for liars//And truthfully, the truth never needs explaining'."
--Chad Grishcow, IGN (September 16, 2011)

"After an unjust break in their momentum (following the assault and subsequent recovery of bassist Matthew Leone last year), the sheer punch 'World War III' packs reaffirms Madina Lake as frontrunners in the scene. It's noticeably darker than 09s 'Attics To Eden', but they've strategically kept their arrangements succinct and tight to keep their signature catchiness. There's a polish in the production that does brush off the grit and edge from songs like 'They're Coming For Me' and 'Howdy Neighbor!' but there is also something about the album's slick sound that makes it an admirable push past adversity into a long-overdue bright future."
--Amy Bangs, RockSound U.K. (September 2011)

"Madina Lake have done their best album so far with World War III, this is not a dark album with the title and the recent happenings in mind. It's a very positive album with hope and a bright uplifting sound. ...stunning modern rock anthems like 'Across 5 Oceans' and 'We Got This' sound like killer hits. The 2nd track 'Imagineer' is also another highlight that I return to all the time, what a superb album!"
--Kaj Roth, Melodic.net (September 2011)

"'Howdy Neighbor!' is suitably energetic, all feistiness and gusto and disembodied backing vocals. It's a heavier pop song laced with venom, and it uses a piano to add an uncharacteristic air of grace near the end. 'Imagineer' co authored and produced by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, fades in on a lengthy synth note, then adds heavy guitars and distortion for a rousing verse. The vocals are as snide as the album opener, breathing bitterness and resolution into the lyrics, and the pace remains electric right through."
--Grace Duffy, Under The Gun Review (September 19, 2011)

"The drummer lays a solid foundation while using select parts in songs like 'Howdy Neighbor!' and 'Across 5 Oceans' to show off his exceptional skill. The listener has the insanely likeable vocals from Nathan Leone throughout the entire release. On tracks like 'They're Coming For Me' his voice is brilliant yet seems so familiar and from the high days of rock music."
--Ryan Williford, Audio Opinions, September 14 (10/10 CD review)

"Madina Lake's three-album trilogy culminates with their epic release World War III. The album was inspired by real-life tragedy in which bassist Matthew Leone found himself in a coma after intervening in a domestic dispute. With the help of doctors and the music community the Chicago quartet prevailed and channeled their angst and energy into a 12-track melodic pop rock album full of uplifting and hopeful undertones. Stand out tracks include, 'They're Coming For Me,' 'We Got This,' and 'Hey Superstar'."
--Leslie De Jesus, Sinister Girlz (NYC zine, September 14, 2011)

REAL GONE MUSIC INKS WITH RAZOR & TIE FOR U.S. DISTRIBUTION

REAL GONE MUSIC INKS WITH RAZOR & TIE FOR U.S. DISTRIBUTION

RE-ISSUE LABEL CREATED BY INDUSTRY VETERANS GORDON ANDERSON AND GABBY CASTELLANA

(New York, NY) Razor & Tie has signed Real Gone Music to an exclusive distribution deal for the United States. The newly formed re-issue label boasts a diverse release schedule for 2011 and 2012 drawing from both major label licensing arms and independents, featuring such artists as the Grateful Dead, Connie Stevens, Rick Nelson and, kicking off Real Gone's licensing arrangement with ABKCO Music and Records, Inc., Question Mark & the Mysterians. Real Gone Music, helmed by industry vets Gordon Anderson and Gabby Castellana, will establish itself as the most eclectic and prolific catalog and reissue label in the country.

The announcement was made by Razor & Tie Co-Owners Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam. They comment. "We are very excited to work with Gordon and Gabby and are grateful that they have chosen to work with us. These guys care about music and know how to run a successful business. We are confident that they will set the standard for quality catalog and reissue work."

"We couldn't pass up the chance to work with Cliff and Craig and their great team at Razor & Tie. Their knowledge of back catalog will prove invaluable in helping us create a deep and compelling roster of artists and titles," adds Real Gone's Gordon Anderson, Co-President.

Real Gone Music was formed by Gordon Anderson and Gabby Castellana, who both separately started businesses in 1993 - Collectors' Choice Music and Hep Cat Records & Distribution--that became two of the most important outlets for buyers and sellers of vintage music recordings. Now, 18 years later, they have joined forces to launch Real Gone Music, a reissue label dedicated to serving both the collector community and the casual music fan with a robust release schedule combining big-name artists with esoteric cult favorites. What makes a piece of out of print music not just gone but REAL GONE?

The label won't limit itself to any single era or genre. Rather, as Castellana says, "We want to put out titles that, through their repertoire and packaging, inspire the kind of excitement we all felt when we bought our first album or single in a record store…music you can lose yourself in."

Devine Out Now On Headlining Tour This Fall With Support From An Horse and The Features

"Devine layers his vocals atop the thick crescendos in the chorus...the vocal arrangements are expansive." - SPIN

Kevin Devine's latest solo album, Between the Concrete & Clouds (Razor & Tie), is now available in stores and on Amazon.com and iTunes. Kevin is currently out on a headlining tour this fall with support from The Features on the first leg (9/6 - 9/20) and An Horse on the second (10/6 - 10/23). Devine will also play 2 weeks of solo acoustic dates from 9/21 - 10/4.

Today RollingStone.com exclusively premieres the new video for "Off-Screen." Kevin described fitting Brooklyn artist Diana Schoenbrun's "hallucinogenic and artistic puppets with the ambiguous nature of the song, its intent, the kind of smirking cynicism, the druggy lapsing of the protagonist between his dead dream and his deader life." The outcome is self-evident: a video that is something special, something beautiful and dark and strange.

Known for his acoustic musings, Between the Concrete & Clouds shows a sonically and technically different side of Devine - fully backed by a band for the first time, a fact he says had an inspired impact on the final product. Without losing his lyrical density, Kevin explored the technical side of creating structurally more traditional pop songs, evident in the shorter tracks on BTC&C.

Devine has received numerous accolades from press and fans alike over the span of his nine year career. His discography includes several EPs and live albums, as well as past full-lengths Circle Gets the Square (2002), Make the Clocks Move (2003), Split The Country, Split The Street (2005), Put Your Ghost to Rest (2006), Brother's Blood (2009), and Bad Books (2010), a side project Kevin worked on with Andy Hull and other members of Manchester Orchestra. Kevin has played with top artists including Bright Eyes, Manchester Orchestra, Okkervill River, Earlimart, and many more, and has performed at the following festivals: Coachella 2010, Bonnaroo 2010, Bamboozle 2010, Lollapalooza 2009, Austin City Limits 2007, and Soundwave 2008 (Australia).

SAVES THE DAY VIDEO FOR "DERANGED & DESPERATE" DEBUTS ON VEVO TODAY

SAVES THE DAY VIDEO FOR "DERANGED & DESPERATE" DEBUTS ON VEVO TODAY - WATCH HERE

Saves The Day and Bayside Add New York City Shows

New Saves The Day Album: "Daybreak" Out on September 13th

Saves The Day new video for the lead track "Deranged & Desperate" premieres exclusively today at Vevo.com - HERE. The song is off the band's forthcoming new album Daybreak (Razor & Tie), due out on September 13th. Saves The Day & Bayside have also just added two New York City shows to their upcoming fall co-headlining US tour at Irving Plaza on November 15th & 16th. The tour kicks off on October 6th in Philadelphia, making stops in 31 cities across the United States. Tickets for all shows are on sale now HERE.

"For me, 'Deranged & Desperate' is about longing to be at peace with who you are," remarked lead singer Chris Conley. "In a complicated world where we are under pressure to succeed, sometimes we lose ourselves trying to prove to our parents and peers that we are worthy and without fault. The video paints a picture of our ability to overcome the pressures of the world by showing children in adult clothing holding morose drawings and then dropping the drawings and shedding the clothes to reveal colorful kid attire and smiling faces. It was inspiring working with Penta, and his gift of clear vision helped create a beautiful visual interpretation of the song."

Director Stephen Penta added, "I wanted the Deranged & Desperate video to reflect the feeling of losing your way but finding it again, so I set out collecting drawings from artist friends. The concept was to have adults create drawings using only "childlike" materials, but to have all the themes deal with specifically "adult" aspects of their personal lives, or directly with lines and themes from the Saves the Day lyrical catalog. There was something that just seemed a perfect fit pairing the imagery of kids, forced into adult clothes, throwing away their adult stress and getting back to their natural childlike state."

Daybreak is also now streaming in full at NME.com-listen HERE. Visit Absolutepunk.net each day to read exclusive track by track song descriptions leading up to the album release on September 13th. Alternative Press has already declared Daybreak is "The most honest collection yet...Conely's voice continues to be the Benjamin Button of punk rock, sounding younger with every release." The magazine has given the album four stars proclaiming the band is "ready to once again bask in the light."

Forerunners of the emo scene since their inception in 1997, Saves The Day are one of the few that have survived the test of time for almost fifteen years. Produced by Marc Jacob Hudson (Two Tongues, Chiodos) and Saves The Day, the much anticipated Daybreak is the final piece of a three album concept trilogy that started with the 2006 release Sound The Alarm and the 2008 release Under The Boards.

Saves The Day formed in 1997, releasing their debut album Can't Slow Down in 1998 and followed by Through Being Cool in 1999. 2001's Stay What You Are spawned the memorable "At Your Funeral" as the band continued to evolve and grow. 2003's In Reverie peaked at #27 on the Billboard Top 20,, becoming the third Saves The Day album to chart on the Billboard Top 200. In 2006, the band began its concept trilogy, which is now being completed in 2011 with Daybreak. Saves The Day is Chris Conley (Vocals/lead guitar), Arun Bali (Guitar), Rodrigo Palma (Bass) and Claudio Rivera (Drums).
