Vanessa Carlton's New Album Rabbits on the Run Out Today

Set to perform on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday July 27th at 11:35pm ET
Appearance on Chelsea Lately tomorrow, Wednesday July 27th at 11pm ET
Stream interview on NPR's Weekend Edition and new track on ELLE.com now!

Vanessa Carlton's acclaimed new album, Rabbits on the Run, is out today on Razor & Tie. In support of the release, Vanessa is set to perform first single "Carousel" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tomorrow, Wednesday, July 27th. That same night, she will also be making an appearance on Chelsea Lately to talk about the new record.
Vanessa recently appeared on NPR's Weekend Edition to discuss the inspiration behind Rabbits on the Run. Click here to check out the segment. For a taste of the new album, head to ELLE.com to check out their premiere of new track "I Don't Want to Be A Bride."

Praise for Rabbits on the Run:
"A lovely sort of melancholy magic." - Entertainment Weekly
"Rabbits on the Run is Vanessa Carlton's career high water mark thus far, especially on the stunning "Hear the Bells" and "Dear California", a disarming love letter to the Golden State." KCRW's Chris Douridas
"Vanessa Carlton again demonstrates her knack for pensive, piano-driven pop on 'Carousel' from Rabbits on the Run." -People
"Singer and pianist Ms. Carlton has long aspired to a different brand of pop stardom: less navel-baring ...and more melodramatic, heavily arranged pop symphonies." -The New York Times
"Wistful, piano-led balladry, but there's a touch of darkness and complexity on display here that wasn't as apparent on her earlier hits... she's certainly not just another sensitive girl with a piano..." - RollingStone.com

Rabbits on the Run is the most honest and uncompromised album Vanessa Carlton has recorded to date, revealing a striking departure and an exciting snapshot in the evolution of this exquisite storyteller and inventive musician. The album was recorded in the UK at Peter Gabriel's world-renowned Real World Studios with producer Steve Osborne (U2, B-52's, KT Tunstall, Doves). The album finds Vanessa returning to music-making its most organic form to create ten intimate, evocative songs, recorded directly to tape with her close-knit team of collaborators including Steve Osborne, Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket, and Ari Ingber of The Upwelling (all playing on the album). Partly inspired by two books, Richard Adams' Watership Down and Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time, Rabbits on the Run is 10-song set of gorgeous, haunting melodies and finely-crafted stories, including the lush first single "Carousel," the ambient and eerie "Hear the Bells" and the propulsive "London."

New Album World War III Out On September 13th

Madina Lake's first single "Hey Superstar" is available online for purchase HERE. Fans can also listen to a full stream of the song at Altpress.com HERE

Madina Lake's highly anticipated new studio album World War III is set for release on September 13th and the band will kick off a North American tour in support. Madina Lake just completed a series of dates on the Vans Warped Tour as well as the U.K.'s Download Festival at Donington Park this past June. "Hey Superstar" will impact Alternative Radio on August 8th.

Madina Lake lead singer Nathan Leone explains the song, "It feels like everything is becoming completely plastic and contrived lately. From cosmetic adjustments like Botox to technological 'fixes' like Photoshop, Auto-Tune, etc., there's this implication that to be accepted you have to be anything but yourself. That's way too much pressure. I think most people are pretty kickass just as they are, and removing that pressure would probably lead to a much happier life. 'Hey Superstar' is a sentiment to the 'perfect' people that the rest of us are just fine, thanks."

For Madina Lake, World War III closes one chapter and opens another. The Chicago quartet of twin brothers Nathan (Vocals) and Matthew Leone (Bass, Vocals), Mateo Camargo (Guitar, Programming), and Dan Torelli (Drums) has endured more in the past two years than most artists will experience over the course of an entirecareer. Last June, Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone was hospitalized after intervening in a domestic violence incident in Chicago involving a man beating his wife. In critical condition, Leone's injuries included a fractured skull, broken jaw and a swollen brain as doctors removed one-third of his skull while waiting for the swelling in his brain to go down. Local musicians and supporters pulled together to raise money for Matthew's hospital bills with The Smashing Pumpkins playing a benefit show in Chicago raising over $80,000. A lot of uncertainty followed, with doubts that Madina Lake would ever play together again. Fortunately, Matthew's recovery in the last year has been nothing short miraculous leading to this next chapter in the band's history, which brings us to the band's most exciting album yet, World War III.

Madina Lake's new album will be the third and final installment of their concept trilogy, World War III which continues the Leone brothers' tales of a metaphorical universe. Pouring their life experiences into their songs, Madina Lake set out to release three albums which would congruently tell the story of Madina Lake, a small town of their own creation, which would also serve as the canvas for a much larger message. The first chapter, 2007's From Them, Through Us, to You (Roadrunner Records), introduced the town set in the 1950's and the story is focused on the town socialite(Adalia), who goes missing, and the reaction the town's inhabitants have - a commentary on society's obsession with celebrity and materialism. The second chapter, 2009's Attics to Eden (Roadrunner Records), continued the search for the missing socialite while introducing other characters to the world outside Madina Lake as well as exploring Adalia's journey. The album dove into the psychological aspects of the society and what truly separates and degrades humanity when elements of greed, lying, cheating, violence, power struggles and insecurity are displayed. In the final chapter, World War III, concludes with the discovery of Adalia and an epic battle of good and evil that mirrors human internal struggles with self. The album was produced by Mateo Camargo and Madina Lake except the song "Imagineer" which was produced and written by Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) and Madina Lake.

Over the years, Madina Lake has toured with Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Paramore and Gym Class Heroes, in addition to taking part on several runs of the Vans Warped Tour. Madina Lake is Nathan Leone (Vocals), Matthew Leone (Bass, Vocals), Mateo Camargo (Guitars, Programming), and Daniel Torelli (Drums).

The Summer Set's "Everything's Fine" Available In-Stores and Online Today July 19th

Watch "Everything's Fine" Album Trailer HERE

The Summer Set's sophomore album, Everything's Fine, is now available in-stores and on all digital service providers today, July 19th. A special deluxe edition is available exclusively on iTunes featuring additional videos and photos. The 11 track album has already been awarded 4 stars by Alternative Press Magazine and AbsolutePunk raves, "Everything's Fine just takes that bar to another level." Recorded in Los Angeles with super-producer John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, Jonas Brothers, Switchfoot, Andrew W.K.), Everything's Fine has already spawned the hit single "Someone Like You," with the music video debuting on MTV earlier this month.

The band created a trailer to Everything's Fine, set to the album's first track "About A Girl". The "About A Girl" trailer is the first look into our story of Everything's Fine," said guitarist Josh Montgomery. "A beautifully shot video of the characters from our album spreading their love across New York City. There's nothing more incredible than taking real life situations and turning them into a song, and then bringing that song to back to life for the whole world to see." The treatment for the trailer was written by Montgomery, with cinematography by Pat Scola and directed by Bryan Schlam.

The Arizona based The Summer Set is Brian Dales (vocals), John Gomez (guitar), Stephen Gomez (bass), Josh Montgomery (guitar) and Jess Bowen (drums). The Summer Set has quickly become a phenomenon throughout the independent music scene, being named one of the 100 Artists To Watch by Alternative Press in 2010 with vocalist Dales featured on the cover, and what appeared to be a never-ending two years of successful tours with high profile artists including All Time Low, Never Shout Never, and Cartel, as well as being part of the AP Tour, Vans Warped Tour, Bamboozle and Hoodwink Festival.

ATTILA ANNOUNCE RELEASE OF NEW ALBUM, "OUTLAWED" AVAILABLE IN-STORES & ONLINE AUGUST 16TH

ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER NOW ON iTUNES

Artery Recordings / Razor & Tie will release Attila's new album Outlawed on August 16th, 2011 (available now on iTunes for preorder). These ten brand new songs from Atlanta's party metal band are the heaviest, fastest, nastiest and sickest album the band has ever created. Fans already got a taste of the album when the band released "Payback" on the Artery Recordings YouTube channel, the lyrics of which are only for those dedicated to Attila's style (or those just looking for some hardcore payback). Attila will be on tour this summer on the All Stars Tour as they continue to round up "villains" and spread the word of Outlawed.

Outlawed was produced by the legendary Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, We Came As Romans), and it flaunts the band's gritty, fast-talking, swagger-heavy music that they have become known for.

"Our new album Outlawed is the raunchiest, wildest album we've ever made! For the new CD, we all agreed that we needed to go balls to the wall. It's a huge step up from our last release, Rage! Outlawed is way heavier and catchier than anything we've put out, but we still kept the ATTILA sound that everyone has grown to love," says frontman, Fronz.

Party death metal rockers Attila formed in their hometown of Atlanta in 2005, meeting each other at their high school and through mutual friends. Their mutual love of music (and partying) brought the guys together to form what would eventually become the fourth imprint on the Artery Foundation/Razor & Tie joint venture, Artery Recordings. When the guys set out to name their newly formed band, they knew they were looking for a simple, one word name that didn't imply the typical death metal cliché terms such as "blood, dying, and darkness." One day they found themselves in a bookstore passing around a book about Attila the Hun, and so Attila was born.

Artery Recordings is the label home to The Artery Foundation and an imprint of independent label Razor & Tie, whose roster now includes Chelsea Grin, Vanna, Attila, I Declare War, A Bullet For Pretty Boy, Close To Home, The Crimson Armada and Casino Madrid. A management company since 2004, The Artery Foundation has a knack for finding diamonds in the rough and nurturing them into worldwide prominence. Some of their recent artists flooding the Billboard charts have included Top 40 releases with The Devil Wears Prada and Attack Attack!, Top 100 releases with Alesana and Breath Carolina and additional artists such as Asking Alexandria, Jonny Craig and Dance Gavin Dance.

KEVIN DEVINE SIGNS WITH RAZOR & TIE

New Album "Between The Concrete & Clouds" To Be Released on September 13TH , 2011

Stream The Title Track HERE or Download HERE

Razor & Tie is excited to announce the signing of Brooklyn based singer-songwriter Kevin Devine. His new full length album, Between the Concrete & Clouds, will be released September 13, 2011 via Razor & Tie / Favorite Gentlemen. Devine will head out this fall on a headlining tour with The Features as direct support on its first leg. The tour will kick off on September 6th in Pittsburgh, PA at Club AE and make stops nationwide, concluding in Upland, CA at The Wire. Stream or download the title track.

Watch Kevin perform "Sleep Walking Through My Life" with Morgan Kibby from M83 shot at Rob Schnapf's studio during the recording of the album here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85BfpIhVoaU)

Between the Concrete & Clouds is a record full of firsts for Devine, both sonically and technically. Perhaps best known for his solo acoustic musings, this is the first record he's made that is fully backed by a band. After settling back home in Brooklyn after being on tour for most of 2009 and '10, Devine spent time in his rehearsal space playing around with ideas on his own, bringing shape to the songs by recording them as acoustic demos, something he hasn't done since high school.

Produced by longtime collaborator Chris Bracco and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Dr. Dog), Between the Concrete & Clouds was recorded in 10 days over a span of a month. The 10 track album features musicians Brian Bonz (keyboard), Chris Bracco (bass, keyboard), Mike Fadem (drums, percussion), Russell Smith (electric guitar), and Mike Strandberg (guitar, mandolin). This is the first recording Devine's done with his version of his band, and it had an inspired impact on the final product.

"The combination of Chris and Rob on this record kind of marries the best aspects of everything I've tried to do over the past ten years," said Kevin. "I tried to explore a bit musically and make an album that still has a lot to chew on, but serves it with a scoop of ice cream," said Kevin. "I took the lyrical density of what I typically write - which are not- simple stories about not-simple people, or what I feel life is most accurately like - but give them more of a traditional pop structure."

Devine has received numerous accolades from press and fans alike over the span of his nine year career. His discography includes several EPs and live albums, as well as past full-lengths Circle Gets the Square (2002), Make the Clocks Move (2003), Split The Country, Split The Street (2005), Put Your Ghost to Rest (2006), Brother's Blood (2009), and Bad Books (2010), a side project Kevin worked on with Andy Hull and other members of Manchester Orchestra. Kevin has played with top artists including Bright Eyes, Manchester Orchestra, Okkervill River, Earlimart, and many more, and has performed at the following festivals: Coachella 2010, Bonnaroo 2010, Bamboozle 2010, Lollapalooza 2009, Austin City Limits 2007, and Soundwave 2008 (Australia).

WHAT THE PRESS IS SAYING
"The collaboration feels egalitarian, but never forced." - SPIN.com (Bad Books)

"Kind of intense for such pretty music." - NPR (Bad Books)

"For an accident, Bad Books seems pretty meant to be." - ZINK (Bad Books)

"The grinding eight-minute title track finds Devine in full-bore Crazy Horse mode and it's thrilling." - SPIN, June 2009 (Brother's Blood)

"It's easily his best album yet, expressing the personal through the sociopolitical scope via a new medium that's working for him." - Alternative Press, June 2009 (Brother's Blood)

"He's such a canny writer and careful observer of human nature that his morose ruminations take on the aura of poetry." - PasteMagazine.com, May 2009 (Brother's Blood)

VANNA PREMIERE VIDEO FOR "SCARLET SHROUD" ON ALTERNATIVEPRESS.COM

First Video From New Album And They Came Baring Bones

Vanna is set to premiere the video for "Scarlet Shroud," from their June 21st release And They Came Baring Bones. It will debut today, July 5th exclusively on Alternative Press. Click HERE to view. The concept behind the video is very similar to the theme of the album - the idea of life, death, afterlife and rebirth. As the band fights their way through a crowd marching to their death, they encounter symbolic figures and signs that eventually lead them to brightness of the "white light" by the sea.

The video for "Scarlet Shroud" was shot in New Hampshire and produced by David Brodsky (Whitechapel, The Acacia Strain, As I Lay Dying). "The video really reflects the darkness the song holds on to but at the same time has flashes and glimmers of bright light which the song also reflects," said vocalist Davey Muise. "We hope if nothing else people soak up the great cinematography and shots this video has to offer and maybe a glimpse into the And They Came Baring Bones story line."

The video follows the successful release of And They Came Baring Bones, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard New Artist Chart and #22 on the Billboard Hard Music Chart.

And They Came Baring Bones, Vanna's first full length Artery Recordings album, was produced by Matt Goldman (Underoath, The Chariot). Alternative Press says, "Vanna could well be on their way to the pinnacle of hardcore success" while AbsolutePunk.net says of the album "And They Came Baring Bones is without a doubt Vanna's best effort to date." They will hit the road on the 2011 Summer Partery Tour with In Fear & Faith. The Boston based band is Davey Muise (vocals), Nick Lambert (guitars), Evan Pharmakis (guitars, clean vocals), Shawn Marquis (bass), Chris Campbell (drums).
