**Legendary Frontman for The Verve Begins Next Chapter of Solo Career**
**New Album The United Nations Of Sound Coming Early 2011

Richard Ashcroft, British rock legend best known as the leader of the monumental band The Verve has signed with Razor & Tie. His latest and most ambitious solo work to date, The United Nations Of Sound, will be released in the United States in early 2011. The 12-song album was produced by noted hip hop producer No I.D. (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Common) who assisted Richard in creating a huge sound that makes use of live orchestration, big beats and his widest range of influences yet.

"It's an honor to work with someone as esteemed as Richard," said Beka Tischker, Vice President of A&R at Razor & Tie. "Besides being one of the seminal figures of modern British rock music, his music has touched my life. It's the icing on the cake in this business when you get to work with someone who has soundtracked important parts of your life."

Songs from The United Nations Of Sound are already in great demand and enjoying massive worldwide exposure through television and film placements. The anthemic lead track "Are You Ready?" is featured in Volkswagen's new Jetta ad campaign (viewable here), had been in promos for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals and is currently being used in FOX's broadcast of Major League Baseball's postseason games including the opening of the World Series. Another track, "She Brings Me the Music" was recently featured in NBC's hit series Chuck. The forthcoming Matt Damon sci-fi flick The Adjustment Bureau will include a new song written and performed specifically for the film's opening by Richard and ten-time Oscar-nominated composer Tom Newman. The film will also feature "Are You Ready?" over the closing credits.

"Are You Ready?" is available for purchase on iTunes at this link.

Richard Ashcroft first came to prominence as the enigmatic, often controversial singer for The Verve in 1992. After two acclaimed albums the band finally exploded in America on the strength of their third, 1997's Urban Hymns which contained the all-time classic "Bitter Sweet Symphony" propelling it to Platinum. After their break-up in 1999, Richard launched his solo career the next year with the album Alone With Everybody, reaching #1 on the UK album chart. He followed with 2002's Human Conditions and Keys to the World in 2006 before reuniting with The Verve for 2008's Forth which they supported with a major world tour. The Verve split for good in 2009.

Richard is expected to embark on his first solo tour of the U.S. in six years in 2011 to support the new album The United Nations Of Sound.

Band Currently In Studio Recording New Album

Razor & Tie is excited to announce the signing of Ocean Is Theory, the indie rock band based out of Atlanta. The band is currently recording their new album in Los Angeles with producers Stacy Jones and Bill Lefler.

Formed in 2007, Ocean Is Theory is a proven success story. Their self released EP Into the Mouths of Lions helped the band become a favorite amongst the local Atlanta scene and throughout the Southeast, and allowed them to gain credibility and exposure. While touring, they sold over 6,000 copies of the EP independently and soon caught the attention of retailers who brought the EP on board. At the same time, the band continued to write new material and released their second EP, In My Blood Again in 2009. In My Blood Again was produced by Matt Malpass (Copeland, Lydia, Relient K) and mixed by producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday).

Based out of Atlanta, Ocean Is Theory is Josh Williams (vocals/guitars), Nick Novak (guitars/vocals), Kevin Cerbone (bass/vocals) and Clay Carter (drums/vocals). Through solid touring including Absolute Punk's "Unsigned and Underage Tour," Ocean Is Theory has created a solid and dedicated fan base while creating interest and awareness from the industry and peers alike.

"I am so excited to be working with Ocean Is Theory," said Beka Tischker, Vice President of A&R at Razor & Tie. "I thank Dylan Chenfeld for bringing the band to my attention and introducing me to their music. I know they are ready for big things in the future, and everyone at Razor & Tie is thrilled to be working on this project."

After successfully making a name for themselves completely independent of any label ties, Ocean Is Theory is happy to now partner with Razor & Tie. "This feels like our first record," said vocalist/guitarist Josh Williams. "We've really grown as songwriters. This is the most time we've spent on writing, and definitely the most care we've put into an album." The untitled 2011 release will be more indie pop than anything the band has ever created before. "Good, hooky, indie rock," Williams explains. He cites Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World as a few of the band's inspirations when writing the record. The collaborative production team of American Hi-Fi vocalist Stacy Jones (Plain White T's, The Strays, Ingrid Michaelson) and Bill Lefler (Dashboard Confessional, Gym Class Heroes, Cary Brothers) will help fuse the mix of pop, grunge, and indie rock.

Jones and Lefler are excited about working with Ocean Is Theory on their latest album. Lefler stated, "The band has a sort of left-of-center, interesting take on pop songs. The way they play reminds me of cult classics, like The Smiths, The Cure and My Bloody Valentine." Ocean Is Theory's new album will be released in early 2011 via Razor & Tie.
