"MERIDIONAL" RELEASE TO COINCIDE WITH THE START OF MAYHEM FESTIVAL TOUR DATES
NEW YORK, NY (April 19, 2010) Fans of Norma Jean won't have to wait much longer to hear the bands' fifth album Meridional which will be released July 13th on Razor & Tie. Meridional revisits the abrasive and chaotic roots of classic Norma Jean while offering fans a dark experimental side-the band stretching out on moody, slow-burn jams. It's an album that finds the band comfortable in its legacy but progressive and bold in its creativity.
Meridional was recorded in February 2010 at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta with producer Jeremy Griffith. The band recorded eleven official tracks for the record as well as a few extra bonus tracks and B-sides. Vocalist Cory Brandan described Meridional, "It's a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes. Any track we didn't think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible."
The album's release coincides with the start of the Mayhem Festival where Norma Jean will be playing on the Mayhem Festival Stage with Atreyu, In This Moment, and 3 Inches Of Blood. Mayhem Festival headliners include Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb Of God, and Five Finger Death Punch. Norma Jean will also be embarking on a two week tour with Every Time I Die starting May 11th. The band will perform new material on the limited club tour to give fans a taste of the upcoming album release. Cory Brandan commented, "If we had to choose any band to be stuck with on tour, it would be Every Time I Die. They're one of our favorite bands, full of musicians that we respect. We only wish it was longer or could be liquefied so I could mainline it."
The five-piece metal band from Atlanta is Cory Brandan (vocalist/guitar), Scottie Henry (guitar), Jake Schultz (bass), Chris Day (guitar) and Chris Raines (drums). They have previously released four records prior to Meridional, selling over 365,000 albums. The Grammy-nominated band is known for their artistically chaotic sound which has influenced and resonated with the metal community. The band is managed by Tim Smith and Chris Byrnes of Blood Company and booked by Nick Storch of ICM.
NEW YORK, NY (April 2010) Norma Jean will be supporting Every Time I Die on a two week tour starting May 11th joined by Cancer Bats. The engagement brings together the three metal/hardcore bands in a unique and limited club tour. The shows are sure to create even more buzz and excitement surrounding Norma Jean's highly anticipated fifth album 'Meridional' to be released this summer and a slot on this summer's upcoming Mayhem Festival.

ALBUM TO BE RELEASED AS BAND EMBARKS ON SUMMER-LONG US TOUR
NEW YORK, NY (April 5, 2010) Attila will release their Artery Recordings / Razor & Tie debut, RAGE, on May 11th. The band, made up of Fronz (vocals), Nate (guitar), Chris (guitar), Sean (drums) and Paul (bass) is the fourth addition to the Artery/Razor & Tie joint venture. A self-proclaimed "party death metal" band, Attila and RAGE are sure to spark interest and energy amongst the metal scene.
Coming from Atlanta, the members of Attila were influenced by a wide and eclectic range of artists from dirty south rappers to assorted metal bands. Their new album showcases the impression the Atlanta music scene instills with the band. Regarding the meaning behind RAGE, lead singer Fronz stated, "The title can be perceived in many ways, one obviously being a state of extreme anger, and the other being its more obvious slang meaning - to party! I have always been a fan of play-on-words and double meanings, and that's what drew me to this title more than anything."
The party metal band have spent the past two years touring full time. After wrapping up a four week tour in Europe, Attila is jumping right into a summer-long US tour with Drop Dead, Gorgeous starting April 8th. Despite the toll of constantly being on the road, Fronz said, "We are all enjoying the touring lifestyle, and we are looking forward to constantly progressing and participating in bigger tours."
