ALL THAT REMAINS AND TRIVIUM TEAM UP FOR HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED CO-HEADLINING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
TREK PRESENTED BY HOOVES BRAND FOOTWEAR, SPONSORED BY REVOLVER
(New York, NY) - September marks the much-anticipated return to the road for metal behemoths All That Remains and Trivium. The bands will head out on a co-headlining six-week tour, alternating the closing slot. 36 Crazyfists and The Human Abstract will support, making for an evening of eclectic and uncompromising metal that will captivate audiences across the United States (please see below for tour dates). All That Remains' new album OVERCOME (Prosthetic/Razor & Tie Entertainment) is due out on September 16th, while Trivium's new album SHOGUN (Roadrunner Records) will hit the streets on September 30th.
Released in July, 2006, All That Remains' last studio release, THE FALL OF IDEALS, has sold over 175,000 units to date. Metal bible Kerrang said the album, "bears all the hallmarks of a classic...the musicianship is stunning... ruthlessly precise and powerful", while Metal Hammer stated, "Track after track, the band leave you breathless..." Since All That Remains' first album was released in 2002, the band has grown in leaps and bounds in every arena. They've gone from playing opening slots to headlining and selling out their own tours and playing major rock festivals domestically and abroad. The first single from THE FALL OF IDEALS, "This Calling" could be heard all over the country on hard rock stations and the corresponding video could be seen on MTV and Fuse. The song also appeared in the major motion picture, "Saw 3." "Six," another track from the album is featured in the hit video game, "Guitar Hero 2."
Trivium have sold nearly a million records worldwide since their 2005 debut, ASCENDANCY. They've continued to rise through the ranks of the American and European metal scenes. Their previous efforts have landed them multiple magazine covers across the globe in less than a year and picking up "Best New Band" accolades almost everywhere they played. Intent on not delivering a 'part two' with their follow-up record, 2006's THE CRUSADE took a slightly different direction, with cleaner singing and more varied influences. It retained their stunning signature guitar work and led to some enviable touring opportunities with bands such as Metallica and Iron Maiden. With SHOGUN, they are poised to please their legion of fans as well as capture new ones.
The tour will be presented by Hooves, a shoe company that specializes in dark, conceptual, high quality hi-top sneakers that glorify all things metal. The line was launched by producer Nick Raskulinecz, who manned the boards for SHOGUN, and Gravis Footwear, and features a limited edition, blood-stained, pentagram-lined shoe that quickly sold out. The full line kicks off in October 2008. All That Remains, Trivium and their tourmates are partnering up to bring metal music and culture to the forefront on this tour. ACCLAIMED ARTIST DEAD CONFEDERATE IS FIRST SIGNING; "WRECKING BALL" DUE OUT IN FALL
(New York, NY) - Razor & Tie Entertainment and Gary Gersh's The Artist Organization (TAO) have announced a long-term strategic partnership through which the companies will sign recording artists. Combining Gersh's formidable A&R skills with Razor & Tie's full-service marketing staff and infrastructure, the venture will sign a handful of exciting new artists each year.
Razor & Tie's Co-Owners Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam had this to say: "Gary is one of the most accomplished individuals in the music business and someone who has demonstrated unique talent in discovering, nurturing and promoting great artists. Razor & Tie is one of the fastest growing and largest indies in the industry. We believe Gary can help these artists reach a larger audience in innovative and creative ways". Gary Gersh commented, "Razor & Tie is the natural home for my new label. Cliff and Craig and their company have had success with a diverse array of projects, artists and genres. The first release on the TAO imprint will be from the Athens, Georgia-based rock outfit Dead Confederate (www.myspace.com/deadconfederate). The psychedelic-meets-grunge sound of Dead Confederate created quite the buzz at this year's SXSW festival with a number of well-attended shows, including a much-coveted opening slot for R.E.M. at their only festival appearance. Paul Rees, editor of Q, called Dead Confederate the "best discovery" he didn't know about prior to attending the festival. The band has been wowing audiences and critics alike and has strong support from such influential radio stations as KEXP/Seattle, WOXY/Cincinnati and WXPN/Philadelphia.
Recently featured on the NPR website (their track, "The Rat" was Song Of The Day), NPR stated, "Dead Confederate's wall of sound feels cinematic and atmospheric, loud and beautiful". Paste commented, "this dramatic band forges a distinct style", while Spin.com avowed, "Dead Confederate's sincere versatility drives home rock'n'roll that is damn well alive and kicking". The band was also recently featured as Artist Of The Day on Spin's website.
Dead Confederate's debut eponymous EP is currently available digitally and at traditional retail. Their first full-length album, WRECKING BALL, will be released in the fall and is produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead). Dead Confederate has just wrapped up tour dates as support for Drive-By Truckers and will continue to tour throughout the summer.
Industry veteran Gary Gersh has been instrumental in the success of countless well-known and Grammy-Award-winning artists such as David Bowie, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, Pat Metheny, The Mars Volta, Counting Crows and many more. Gersh is the Founder and CEO of The Artists Organization.
