The gold-certified soundtrack to ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS comes in at #11, nearly doubling its sales from last week, and jumping up 10 spots. The title also holds the #2 spot on the Soundtrack chart this week. At #16 is the latest KIDZ BOP title, KIDZ BOP 13, with more than double its last week's sales and a leap up of 14 spots; the title is also #3 on the Children's chart. Making its chart debut this week at #87 is BUZZCUTS, a new compilation featuring the biggest alternative rock hits from the past decade.

The soundtrack is currently #15 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, and has spent nearly four months near the top of the chart. And if further evidence was needed to demonstrate the Chipmunks transition to the modern era, cumulative digital download sales for individual tracks from the soundtrack are fast approaching the one million mark.

The 20th Century Fox live action/CGI motion picture Alvin and The Chipmunks will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on April 1st. The worldwide Box Office gross for the film has exceeded $350 million, making the film the highest-grossing live action cartoon adaptation on record. Alvin and The Chipmunks is nominated for the 2008 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards in the Favorite Movie category.
