(NEW YORK, NY) - They have been around for 50 years, but some artists never go out of style. The original motion picture soundtrack ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS has been certified gold. The soundtrack is currently #15 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, and has spent nearly four months near the top of the chart. And if further evidence was needed to demonstrate the Chipmunks transition to the modern era, cumulative digital download sales for individual tracks from the soundtrack are fast approaching the one million mark.

"In an era where successful soundtracks are incredibly rare, we are thrilled by the results that Razor & Tie realized with "Alvin". This is a partnership that worked on all levels, and proves that audiences seek out songs and soundtracks when they are genuine souvenirs from musical films," said Robert Kraft, President, Fox Music. Razor & Tie Entertainment Co-Owners Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam added, "The Chipmunks are an enduring American institution and we are very proud to have been able to play some role in the success of this project. The folks at FOX are a delight to work with and total pros".
