ANGELIQUE KIDJO CONFIRMED FOR LIVE EARTH/SOUTH AFRICAN PERFORMANCE SLOT; NEW VIDEO FOR "GIMME SHELTER" FEATURING JOSS STONE COMING SOON

KICKS OFF IN JULY
(New York, NY) - International music star/charitable ambassador Angelique Kidjo has been busy! The energetic Kidjo and her band of accomplished musicians have been criss-crossing the globe on tour since February of this year in support of her latest album, DJIN DJIN (pronounced "gin gin"). On July 7th, Kidjo and company will give a very special performance as part of the 24-hour, 7-continent Live Earth concert event to combat global warming. Angelique will be one of the main performers on the bill at the Johannesburg, South Africa show. Also on the bill will be the soulful Joss Stone; together, Stone and Kidjo will perform their rendition of "Gimme Shelter", which appears on DJIN DJIN.
Production is just wrapping on the video of "Gimme Shelter" featuring Angelique Kidjo with Joss Stone. The video was shot a few weeks ago in lower Manhattan and is directed by Noble Jones (Goo Goo Dolls, Ms. Dynamite, Michael Buble, Seal). "Gimme Shelter" will be serviced to radio and video outlets later this summer.
Other upcoming highlights in the world of Angelique Kidjo: Beginning in mid-July, she will again open for Josh Groban as sole support on the second leg of his North American tour beginning in mid-July (see below for a full list of tour dates). On Saturday, July 14th, she will perform on The CBS Saturday Early Show and on Thursday, August 2nd on CBS' The Late Show With David Letterman. Angelique's cover of "Little Boxes", the song featured in the opening credits of Showtime's smash hit series, "Weeds", will air on the August 20th episode.
Kidjo's latest album, DJIN DJIN, was co-released on May 1st by Starbucks Entertainment and Razor & Tie Entertainment and finds Kidjo partnering with such luminaries as Josh Groban, Alicia Keys, Peter Gabriel, Carlos Santana, Joss Stone and Ziggy Marley to create an album which is truly global in scope. The album has received massive coverage from the press. Angelique was recently profiled in The Los Angeles Times; writer Don Heckman called the album, "_a fertile music tree, spreading in all directions, growing from rich rhythmic soil_", while Urban Network stated, "The Beninese diva of conscious returns with an album so full of special moments one hardly knows where to begin discussing them…" Angelique is included in the special Africa issue of Vanity Fair in a full-page feature written by Harry Belafonte, on stands now.

ALL THAT REMAINS' "THE FALL OF IDEALS" RISES: ALBUM BREAKS 100,000 IN SALES - LIVE DVD SET FOR OCTOBER RELEASE
(New York, NY) - Prosthetic Records/Razor & Tie Entertainment recording artists All That Remains have reached a major sales milestone - their third album THE FALL OF IDEALS has surpassed the 100,000 mark in sales.
"Just shy of a year ago we put out a record called THE FALL OF IDEALS
and ever since that first week we have been amazed at the reaction people
have had!" All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte says. "This week we hit a milestone in ATR's career with 100,000 copies sold! We have been working towards this goal for a long time. I think Hatebreed was the first band that I was actually friends with that broke that number with Satisfaction....I remember thinking how huge it seemed and it still seems enormous, especially in today's musical climate. Thank you to everyone who picked up the disc, who told their friends, who sent us love on MySpace, who posts on our message board, who started fan sites, and everyone who came out to shows to hang out and support ATR. We are gonna hit a few new places this year and lots of places we've been before. So come out, say what's up, and get into it!"
Released last July, THE FALL OF IDEALS garnered All That Remains serious praise from the press. Metal bible Kerrang said the album, "bears all the hallmarks of a classic; the musicianship is stunning; ruthlessly precise and powerful", while the band's hometown paper, Springfield, Mass.' The Republican, referred to the album as "potent; a wild ride, one that's metal to the core without abandoning musical virtuosity and a keen sense of melody."
Since All That Remains' first album was released in 2002, the band has grown in leaps and bounds in every arena. They've gone from playing opening slots to headlining and selling out their very own tour this year and playing major rock festivals domestically and abroad - Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground, Wacken: Open Air. The first single from The Fall of Ideals, "This Calling" could be heard all over the country on hard rock stations and the corresponding video could be seen on MTV and Fuse. The song also appeared in the major motion picture, "Saw 3." "Six," another track from the album is featured in the hit video game, "Guitar Hero 2." All That Remains' presence on MySpace.com has increased significantly - their number of friends has more than quadrupled in the past year alone.
All That Remains will soon experience another first: the release of a live concert DVD in October. The DVD will feature live performances from the band's recent show at Theater of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, as well as from their upcoming show in Baltimore at The Recher Theatre on July 12. ATR fans will also be treated to tons of bonus goodies on the new DVD, including behind the scenes footage, band and fan interviews, a live photo slideshow and all of the band's videos.
In other All That Remains news, July will find the hard-working band filming a video for the third single from The Fall of Ideals, "Not Alone", in between tour dates. Director Soren will handle the shoot, having already produced videos for Unearth and Light This City. After a handful of domestic tour dates (including a special appearance on the Sounds of the Underground tour), the band heads to Mexico and then Europe through August, where they will pay several major festivals including the Wacken: Open Air Festival in Germany.

SINGER/SONGWRITER DAVE BARNES INKS WITH RAZOR & TIE ENTERTAINMENT WORLDWIDE
(New York, NY) - Razor & Tie Entertainment has announced the signing of singer/songwriter Dave Barnes to an exclusive worldwide recording contract and a worldwide publishing administration deal. The Mississippi-bred, Nashville-based Barnes is not only known for his melodic tunes, but also for his comedic story-telling abilities, as can be seen in numerous, frequently-viewed posts on YouTube. Armed with his acoustic guitar, clean-cut good looks and a knack for catchy hooks, Dave Barnes can do it all.
Although he is only at the beginning of his very promising career, Barnes has already had songs featured in film and television, including ABC's "Brothers And Sisters", WB's "Smallville" and "Summerland", ABC's "Numbers", as well as the films "Employee Of The Month" and "My Super Ex-Girlfriend".
Razor & Tie co-heads Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam commented, "We love Dave Barnes. We love hanging out with Dave Barnes. By signing him, we will get to hang out with him more often". Dave Barnes is currently in the studio recording his new album for Razor & Tie, which is due for release early next year. Razor & Tie has also picked up the North American distribution of Barnes' two self-released albums, 2004's BROTHER, BRING THE SUN and last year's CHASING MISSISSIPPI. The two albums have already garnered impressive press coverage and substantial album sales. As Paste Magazine stated, "his genuine, feel-good energy infects the crowd".
A true road dog who plays over 120 shows a year, Barnes has established an impressive fanbase throughout the South and was featured in the line-up of this year's Bonnaroo Festival. Barnes also has an impressive list of well-known supporters including John Mayer, Amy Grant and Vince Gill, the latter two made respective guest appearances on CHASING MISSISSIPPPI.
Barnes' songwriting prowess has led him to collaborations with other well-respected writers including Marc Broussard who recorded a Barnes-penned tune, "Lonely Night In Georgia". (Kelly Clarkson has recently performed the same song live.) His songs have also been successful beyond the pop music community - Bethany Dillon's #1 CBA single, "All That I Can Do", was co-written by Barnes.

ON EVE OF FESTIVAL'S 40TH ANNIVERSARY, MONTEREY INTERNATIONAL POP IS STILL AS RELEVANT AS EVER
TWO-CD RETROSPECTIVE DEBUTS IN BILLBOARD TOP 100;
VH1 ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY SET TO AIR THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 16
(New York, NY) - This weekend marks the official 40th anniversary of the Monterey International Pop Festival. Held in Monterey, California in 1967 on June 16, 17 and 18, it was the first major rock festival (preceding Woodstock by two years), drawing hundreds of thousands of people together. Almost every aspect of it was a "first," including the diversity of the lineup which not only blended all ethnicities but crossed several musical boundaries including rock, pop, jazz, soul, R&B, psychedelia, folk and classical music.
Marking the anniversary, Razor & Tie Entertainment and Starbucks Entertainment co-released MONTEREY INTERNATIONAL POP FESTIVAL, a two-CD retrospective hand-selected from the stellar line-up of performances at the historic 1967 music festival. This week, the set debuts at #58 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. The unique collection not only features rare early performances from now music legends including Jefferson Airplane, The Who, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Mamas and the Papas and Big Brother & The Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, but also features previously-unreleased tracks from Simon & Garfunkel and Buffalo Springfield. The two-CD set is available simultaneously at Starbucks Company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada as well as traditional retail. The Monterey International Pop Festival Foundation benefits from the release of the CD.
VH1 Rock Docs will premiere an original documentary, "Monterey 40" this Saturday, June 16 at 9:00PM on VH1 Classic and will simulcast it commercial free on VH1. "Monterey 40" will tell the story of this historic event from conception to event to aftermath to lasting impact from the perspective of musicians, organizers, audience members and visual documentarians. The film will include new interviews with David Crosby, Michelle Phillips, Pete Townshend, Lou Adler, Grace Slick, D. A. Pennebaker, Bob Weir, Micky Dolenz, Ravi Shankar, Clive Davis, Jann Wenner and Paul Kantner among others.
A lengthy interview with Festival Co-Producer Lou Adler and The Mamas & The Papas' Michelle Phillips about Monterey Pop just aired on NPR's Morning Edition. Adler and Phillips will appear on the nationally-syndicated radio program, "Rockline" on Wednesday, June 27th.
BRAND NEW'S SOPHOMORE ALBUM ON TRIPLE CROWN RECORDS/RAZOR & TIE ENTERTAINMENT CERTIFIED GOLD
(New York, NY) - Brand New's second album DEJA ENTENDU, released on Triple Crown Records/Razor & Tie Entertainment, has been certified gold, with shipments now exceeding the 500,000 mark. This is Brand New's first RIAA certification.
Released in 2003, DEJA ENTENDU garnered the Long Island rockers tremendous press acclaim. Rolling Stone called the album "an emo masterpiece" and deemed Brand New a "Hot Band" in the "Hot" issue, while The New York Times referred to DEJA ENTENDU as an extraordinary album full of riddles and rallying cries and contagious "choruses". The band was named Artist Of The Year that year by The Reader's Poll in Alternative Press and the album made the Best Albums Of 2003 list in Revolver.
Brand New's first album, YOUR FAVORITE WEAPON, was originally released on Triple Crown Records in the fall of 2001 and was later picked up by Razor & Tie. The band has toured extensively, first nabbing much-sought-after opening stints for Dashboard Confessional and more, and then going on to headline. The band's latest album, THE DEVIL AND GOD ARE RAGING INSIDE ME, was released on Interscope in October of last year.

KIDZ BOP LLC PARTNERS WITH VEE CORPORATION TO LAUNCH THE FIRST KIDZ BOP WORLD TOUR

KELLY SWEET'S "RAINCOAT" BREAKS IN TO TOP 10
(New York, NY) - Kelly Sweet, the 19-year-old singer who has opened for Paul Simon and has had her songs featured in "Las Vegas", "One Life to Live" and "Passions", has broken in to the Top 10 of the R&R and Mediabase AC charts with her first single, "Raincoat". The single has also been #1 on FMQB's AC chart for seven weeks in a row. Kelly is the highest-charting new and indie label artist at the format this year. A duet version of "Raincoat" featuring Dave Koz recently broke into the Top 20 on the Smooth Jazz charts, as well.

NEIL SEDAKA TO RECEIVE NMPA SONGWRITER ICON AWARD
(New York, NY) - On Wednesday, June 6th, legendary singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka will be honored with the National Music Publisher's Association Icon Award. Sedaka, who has written over 1000 songs, including such hits as "Where the Boys Are", "Calendar Girl;", "Oh! Carol", "Breaking Up is Hard to Do", "Laughter In the Rain", and "Love Will Keep Us Together" will also give a brief performance. The award will be presented to Sedaka at the NMPA Annual Meeting at Le Parker Meridien. The NMPA is the largest U.S. music publishing trade association.
Celebrating 50 years in show business, Sedaka recently returned to the Billboard charts (for the first time in 27 years) with THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION. With over 24,000 units sold in its first week of release, the album entered the national Billboard album charts at #22. In support of the CD, Sedaka performed in a highly successful one-hour concert appearance on QVC, as well as on NBC's The Today Show, ABC's The View and FOX's The Mike & Juliet Show. In celebration of Sedaka's 50th anniversary, a tribute concert at Lincoln Center is planned for October.
