KIDZ BOP CONTROLS TOP 3 SPOTS ON THE BILLBOARD CHILDREN’S CHART; FIRST TIME EVER THAT ONE ARTIST HAS HELD ALL 3 SPOTS

(New York, NY) – Razor & Tie’s KIDZ BOP series, the country’s most successful kids’ music titles, set a new sales milestone this week when it became the first artist or brand to hold the top 3 spots on the Billboard’s Children’s chart. KIDZ BOP 8 continues its run at #1, while seasonal favorite KIDZ BOP CHRISTMAS jumps to #2 (from #4). The brand new holiday title VERY MERRY KIDZ BOP rises to #3 (from #10).

Since their introduction in 2001, KIDZ BOP titles have sold over 5 million copies and have become the best known brand in kids’ music. To date, the series has produced six gold albums (including KIDZ BOP CHRISTMAS). Earlier this year, KIDZ BOP 8 debuted at # 6 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, making it the highest charting non-soundtrack children’s release in the history of Billboard. KIDZ BOP 9 is due out on February 21st, 2006.

Billboard named the KIDZ BOP KIDZ™ the #1 Children’s Music Artist for 2002, 2003 and 2004 and is expected to do so again in 2005. KIDZ BOP music is featured in Fisher-Price’s Star Station™, which allows kids to sing along to KIDZ BOP music while they watch themselves on television. Star Station™ has been declared one of the “12 Toys of Christmas” by Wal-Mart.

THIS BIRD FLIES INTO CMJ TOP 5 AS PODCAST LAUNCHES ON iTUNES

(New York, NY) – This week, Razor & Tie’s recently-released album This Bird Has Flown – A 40th Anniversary Tribute To The Beatles’ Rubber Soul jumps into the Top 5 on the CMJ Top 200 at #4. It was most recently #7 on the chart. The album is also currently #1 on the Mediaguide Indie chart (college) and was recently the #1 Modern Rock specialty record.

In other news, the This Bird Has Flown podcast has just launched and the first episode is now available on iTunes. The inaugural episode features producer Jim Sampas discussing his vision behind the album and what is was like to work with The Donnas, who covered “Drive My Car”, the first track on the album. Each subsequent episode will spotlight another song on the album.

This Bird Has Flown features some of today’s hottest artists including Sufjan Stevens, The Fiery Furnaces, Ben Harper, Dar Williams, Mindy Smith, The Donnas and many more. The 14-track album mirrors the sequencing of the original UK release of Rubber Soul. The album has received glowing reviews from the press and was featured in a segment on NPR’s All Things Considered. Rolling Stone said that the album “affirms Rubber Soul’s elastic strength,” while The Washington Post confirmed that it “represents the high-water mark in the vast ocean of 2005 tributes”. Guitar World referred to it as a “tightly-conceived package” and Paste recognized the quality of the album’s “incredible line-up of musicians”.

RAZOR & TIE TO RELEASE KIDZ BOP® 9 FEBRUARY 21ST, 2006; KIDZ BOP 7 STRIKES GOLD WITH NEW CERTIFICATION

(New York, NY) – On February 21st, 2006, Razor & Tie Entertainment will release KIDZ BOP 9, the latest volume in the best-selling children’s music series. Like its predecessors, KIDZ BOP 9 will feature today’s biggest hits sung by kids for kids™, but in a new direction for the brand, characters will be introduced in a comic booklet which will be included in the KIDZ BOP 9 CD package. The comic follows the adventures of a group of musical kids on their journey to stardom. The booklet is also a precursor to a series of KIDZ BOP “webisodes” set to debut on KIDZBOP.com in February.

Razor & Tie attains yet another sales milestone with the gold certification of KIDZ BOP 7; shipments of the album have now exceeded 500,000 units. This marks the sixth KIDZ BOP title to achieve gold status, joining KIDZ BOP 1-4 and KIDZ BOP CHRISTMAS in this accomplishment.
